Steel Falling Plate Tournament

We will hold a steel plate tournament for .22LR pistol on our indoor range on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 1 PM.  Shooting will consist of 6 shot strings, 8 strings of fire for a total of 48 shots per match.  We will shoot as many matches as time permits.  Scores will be time on the clock plus a 2 second penalty for all plates left standing, lowest total time wins.  There is no fee to shoot this event.  We will provide cold cuts, breads, and coffee. We ask that all participants bring some sort of food dish to share.  Salads, snacks, and dessert foods are suitable.  Door prize drawings will be held, all shooters will be entered.  Come on out for a fun day of shooting, conversation, and food. If you need more info, use the "Contact Us" link at the left of this page.

NRA Range Safety Officer

About a year and a half ago, we held a class at the club for people to obtain their NRA Range Safety Officer training and certification.  We are wondering if we have more members who would like to see this class return. If we can get enough people interested, we can invite Rochester Personal Defense in for a repeat class. We had 12 of our members take the class last time but some of these people have moved on and are no longer members. We would like to see more of our members trained as RSOs, it makes the club a safer place and the added input about safety concerns helps keep us up to date on safety. You would have to spend about $130-150 total to take a class and get your NRA certification and $6 a year thereafter to maintain your credentials. If you would be interested in a class, please use the "Contact Us" link at the left to drop us a note.

Scouts Came To Shoot

We had Boy Scout Troop 25 from Verona in as guests on Monday, Dec. 19 for a troop shoot. The boys had a great time, we performed a good civic service, and promoted safe shooting all in one evening. Hopefully, more troops will accept our invitation to come and shoot on our range. Here are a few photos from Monday.

One Day Memberships

To obtain a one day membership you must be accompanied by an annual or life member who will be your sponsor and be responsible for your behavior while at the club.  The regular member may sponsor only one daily member at a time and must remain with the day member at all times while at the club.  Fill out the form, have your sponsor sign it, put $5 with the form and fold it up and slide it through the slot in the cover for the kitchen counter. The slot is on the right side and is labeled.   The one day membership will allow you to shoot on the outdoor range while accompanied by your sponsor member.  Without a membership you are not allowed to shoot on the outdoor range.   Please shoot safely and be courteous to other members.  If you would like any further information, use the "Contact Us" link at the left.

Steel Plates Has Returned

Steel plate shooting has returned for the season.  We shoot each Thursday night from 6:30-8:30 PM.  This shoot is for .22LR pistol, a match is 50 shots and costs $1 a match to shoot. The coffee is free, we draw for a nice door prize each week, and there is always good conversation.  Come out and join us for a fun evening of shooting.  This is not a league where you need to come every week, come out and shoot with us when you can.  New shooters are always welcome and coached through their initial matches to be sure they have a fun and safe evening.

Bullseye League Returns

The bullseye shooting league started up on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012 at 6 PM.  The league shoots every Tuesday through the end of March.  Matches are standard NRA Bullseye gallery matches, 10 rounds slow fire, 10 rounds timed fire, and 10 rounds rapid fire on B-2 and B-3 targets at 50 feet.  New shooters are welcome, come try your hand at bullseye.
